Commemorative items available to support our fundraising campaign
To support our fundraising campaign, sculptor Antony Dufort has permittedthe Foundation to make available copies of the maquette model of the statue and the bust of John Magee as Limited Edition bronze castings and as unlimited jesmonite casts. These are available to purchase only from the Foundation. All proceeds from sales will contribute to the purchase of the complete 9ft bronze statue, to the landscaping of the memorial site and the provision of a small Visitor Centre.

The Maquette of the Full Statue
The maquette is the model for the full statue and a stunning portrait of John Magee Jr. wearing his pilot’s uniform as he would have appeared on the airfield at Wellingore in 1941. Every detail of the uniform and equipment portrayed has been researched as the authentic kit Magee would have worn at the time of his fatal flight. His build and facial features are taken from the RCAF records and contemporary photographs of the time. For some items of his kit, the original form was reconstructed to ensure that the form and size were correct.

The Bust of John Magee
The Bust provides more detail of the features of John Magee wearing the same helmet and blouse as shown in the maquette and is mounted on a polished wooden base. The Miniature Bust of John Magee
The miniature bust is a smaller version of the large bust mounted on a wooden base suitable for display on a desktop.

For shipments to locations outside the UK and Europe some savings of the VAT on cost of production are available.
Additional import duties may be applicable in the country of destination. However, each casting in bronze or Jesmonite is individually made and signed by Antony Dufort and individually packaged and classed as a work-of-art which is duty free.
Jesmonite is an inert and durable polymer compound and a replacement for earlier casting materials
The Foundation reserves the right to change the advertised prices as and when required based on cost of production

Special Order Items - If you would like to consider a larger version of either the maquette or the bust for an institution or private display, indoors or outside, please contact us.
All proceeds from the sale of items will contribute to the purchase of the full bronze statue to be located in the Millfield Park at Wellingore, UK and to the landscaping of the memorial and a small Visitor Centre. The village of Wellingore is the site of John Magee Jr’s last posting and the airfield from which he took off for his fatal flight.
